Near to Basel Kuntsmuseum (Art Museum) visit

The Basel Kunstmuseum is principally dedicated to the paintings and drawings of artists from the Upper Rhine and Netherlands from 1400 to 1600 and to the art of the 14th to 21st century. This institution holds the biggest collection of Holbein family works in the world.

The Renaissance is also illustrated by the works of Witz, Cranach the Elder and Grünewald. The paintings of Böcklin, Van Gogh, Gauguin and Cézanne are the highlight of the section devoted to the 19th century while, in the 20th century section, cubism, German expressionism and American art since 1950 are widely represented.
