Vauban garden in Lille

Created in 1863, the Parc de l’impératrice Eugénie took its present name in 1870.

It was created by Barillet-Deschamps, landscape architect and chief gardener in Paris. Immense, boasting more than 35 000 square metres, this English garden with its graceful curves is embellished by lakes and lawns decorated with tulips, hyacinths, forget-me-nots and other flowers surrounded by more than 500 trees and 4 000 shrubs.
