More than 150 years old, the musée d'Histoire naturelle et de géologie (the Museum of Natural History and Geology) has been installed since the beginning of the 20th century in the historical district of the city's faculties.It is today the only great museum of its kind in our region. It groups together four large collections: the Musée de Zoologie (the Zoology Museum) (110 000 samples), the Musée géologique et houiller (the Museum of Geology and Coal) (200 000 samples), the Musée Industriel, commercial et des colonies (the Museum of Industry, Commerce and the Colonies) (100 000 samples), and finally the Musée d'Ethnographie extra-européenne (the Museum of Extra-European Ethnography) (15 000 samples)Every year, the musée d'Histoire naturelle (the Museum of Natural History) offers two temporary exhibitions.
