Located near the Memorial, the Colline aux Oiseaux or "Hill of Birds" is a vast green area of 17 acres, which was opened in 1994 to coincide with the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Normandy Landings.

The Colline aux Oiseaux offers pleasant walks through themed gardens ( including the garden of French cities, the twin cities garden, the garden of wind, and so on). A beautiful rose garden located in the heart of the site allows visitors to come and smell the sweet perfume of more than 150,000 roses.

A maze consisting of two plant species, boxwood and yew, allows adults and children alike to enjoy getting lost and found!
