Near to Omaha-Beach american cemetery

This cemetery has brought together the bodies of close to 10 000 soldiers who were originally buried on Vierville Beach or in other combat zones.
In order to keep the memory of these men who fell for France and freedom alive, an imposing memorial has been built with a central bronze statue, the "Spirit of American Youth."

The semicircular colonnade holds large maps and narratives of the D-Day military operations.

An orientation table locates the D-Day landing beaches and steps lead down to Omaha beach. This memorial site pays resonant homage to those who sacrificed their lives in order to end the German occupation.
