Palace of the Isle - Annecy Centre of architecture and Patrimony interpretation

The Isle Palace in Annecy has a long history. First a residence for the Lord of Annecy from the 12th century onwards, it then served as administrative centre for the Counts of Geneva and finally a prison until 1865.

Classified as a historical monument in 1900, it is now one of the most photographed buildings in France, with its appearance of a ship stranded in the waters of the Thiou.
The centre for the Interpretation of Architecture and Heritage in the Palace presents the history of the town.
