The seat of the former diocese of Chalon-sur-Saône, the Cathédrale Saint-Vincent stands in one of the busiest places of the old town: Place Saint-Vincent.Building started in 1090 and the present Cathédrale Saint-Vincent was first erected in a Roman style strongly influenced by the architecture of the Abbaye de Cluny.The Cathédrale Saint-Vincent is also characterised by Gothic architecture with a "neo-Gothic" facade. The latter is currently undergoing a restoration process.Inside the cathedral, you can see a fine tapestry from Brussels dating from 1510, as well as Roman capitals, a 16th-century stained glass window and some rare statues.
