- Mont des Arts NeighbourhoodWalloniaNear to Garden of the Mont des Arts
The universal exhibition of 1910 was held in Brussels. This is when the first Jardin du Mont des Arts was created up by the architect Jules Vacherot. Criticised for its Swiss-style architecture, it was redesigned between 1957 and 1958 by René Péchère to fit into the urban complex of the Mont des Arts next to the Palais des Congrès, the Royal Library and the Kingdom’s General Archives. This is a classically contemporary hanging garden structured in two parts and it is a real visual showcase within the city of Brussels.
